InitiatedThe department emphasizes to cover the Bodoland Territorial Region as a hub both in trainers and trainees in the field of games and sports. To attain this goal, the department of Sports & Youth Welfare, BTC provides financial sponsor in a batch wise for higher studies in the field of games & sports to sports persons as per eligible criteria. During the financial year 2020-21 and 2021-22, the department also sponsored to seven students for taking up their higher degree in the field of games & sports

BTR Good Governance Initiatives
Initiated1. Major Trophy: The department has sanctioned and released fund of Rs. 3,00,000.00 each to 8 nos. of sports organizers/associations and Rs. 6,00,000 to 1 sports organizer for conducting the Major Trophy Tournament during the financial year 2021-22. 2. COACHING CAMP: Under the regular schemes the selection trial- cum- coaching camps in various disciplines was successfully organized by the Physical Instructors (P.Is) and coaches under BTC area during the financial year 2020-21 & 2021-22. Basic aims of the holding of coaching camp under BTC area is for imparting better quality coaching with new scientific techniques and ideas to the players for enhancing, accelerating them for participating in the state, national and international arena. 3. INCENTIVE CASH AWARD: The department has provided Incentive Cash Award to the National & International proficiency holder as well as ex- gratia to National & International veteran sports personnel of above 60 yrs of age under BTC area during the financial year 2021-22.
