Under this programme 388 dairy farmers of BTR have been distributed dairy utensils like milk cans (cap, 40 lit & 20 lit), cream separator, plunger , hand gloves, rain coat, gum boot for hygienic milk production under SOPD for the year 2021-22. 50 nos of bi-cycle will be distributed among the dairy farmers under SOPD for the year 2022-23. Under RKVY RAFTAAR 93 nos. gum boot, 90 nos. rain coat, 15 nos. paneer, chhana and khowa making machine and 46 nos. chaff cutter has been distributed to the dairy farmers under RKVY for the year 2020-21 implemented during 2021-22.

In the year, 2021-22, total 30 7schemes amounting to Rs. 504.90 lakh had been utilized and successfully implemented as per AOP (SOPD: 2021-22) under the Tourism department, BTC, Kokrajhar in the upliftment of Tourism sector viz. boosting the tourism promotion and publicity; skill development training program; implementation of familiarization trip to induce experience of the products and services of the destinations of BTR; participation and presentation on the tourist destinations and prospects of tourism in BTR. In order to promote cultural tourism, the tourism department organized the “8th Baokhungri Festival” on 14th and 15thApril 2021 to herald the New Year with aspirations for peace and prosperity in the coming years by relishing “Gwkha Gwkhwi” a cuisine which consists of number of medicinal herbs. It is believed that these herbs enable the body to fight off seasonal diseases and gain immunity. The department has laid special emphasis to develop eco, rural and wildlife tourism circuits in BTR under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of MoT, GOI. India Tourism, (North East), MoT, GOI in collaboration with Bodoland Tourism and Nature’s Beckon conducted a two-day workshop on sustainable and rural tourism at Journagra village, Kokrajhar on 17th and 18th February, 2021.

In order to generate employment and awareness for the educated youths of BTR, interactive programme and camping festival at Chakrashila (10th to 12th September, 2021) were successfully conducted. To induct the tourism enthusiastic youths of BTR and to comprehend the current need, importance and challenges affecting the skill gap in terms of essential soft skills required in the Tourism and Hospitality sector and pave ways to overcome them, the department has successfully organized a 10 (ten) days “Skill development training program” with the tourism stakeholders from 26th July 2021 to 4th Aug. 2021 with the aim to generate employment awareness to the educated youth in BTR. To boost promotion of Tourist Destinations of BTR through Tour Operators and also to empower and engage the trained Tourist Guides of BTR; proposal for a guideline for Registration of Tour Operators and also Registration of Tourist Guides have been submitted to BTC. The tourism department celebrated World Tourism Day 2021 in a modest manner by trying to bridge the gap between the Tour Operators of Assam and Stakeholders of Tourism in BTR. In addition to this, keeping in mind the theme of World Tourism Day of “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”, the department focused on the concept of equal opportunities for all engaged in the tourism sector with economic growth with benefits incurred by every section of the society. The event was organized for two days on 26th & 27th September 2021. On 26th September, the Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar graced the occasion to give support for the Department’s endeavour to promote Adventure Tourism at Bogamati. On 27th the event was celebrated at Rhino Eco- Camp, Khairani, Dimakuchi to promote an untouched and undiscovered destination.

To promote and increase the footfall of the tourists from Southern part of India, a Familiarization Trip of 6 (six) nights & 7 (seven) days had been organized by this department for 21 (twenty one) nos of Tour Operators of Telangana from 24th to 30th Oct. 2021, to give them firsthand experience of the products and services of the destinations of BTR; so that they may promote and sell these products directly to the tourists or other travel agents at large. During this trip the tourists spots of all 4 (four) districts of BTR had been covered starting from Kokrajhar to Udalguri. The Tourist guides were engaged for the Familiarization trip for employment and the department ensured that the Tour Operators of Telangana had direct meetings with the Tourism Stakeholders so that while preparing itineraries their costing would not escalate and tourists are able to visit the region.

A total 51 nos. of schemes amounting to Rs. 700.14 lakh was approved under SOPD: 2022-23 for the Tourism department to uplift the tourism infrastructure in consistent touristic model in BTR. It emphasized to boosting the tourism promotion and publicity; new circuits has been formulated to experience tourism in BTR; home stay provision has been emphasized; renovation schemes has been implemented The 9th Baokhungri Festival, 2022 (12th and 14th April 2022) was successfully concluded to witness the confluence of culture, tradition and indigenous games with aspirations for peace and prosperity. To enhanced adventure Tourism in BTR a new Trekking Route was successfully inaugurated at Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary of Kokrajhar district on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2022 in presence of CEM of BTR Pramod Boro and EM of Tourism department Dr. Dharma Narayan Das. The Tourism department, BTC, Kokrajhar successfully assisted fund for the programme “North East Butterfly (NEBM) Season –VII” at Raimona National Park held from 22nd to 24th October, 2022 with an aim to explore butterfly diversity and focus to increase publicity of the area as a butterfly destination site in newly notified Raimona National Park, Raimona, district Kokrajhar.
